Getting Started

Installation

Install Genus OS, which provides the genus CLI:

pip install genusos

Browse the catalog

genus agent catalog

Search the hub

genus agent search "email"
genus agent search --department email

Install an agent

genus agent install email-classifier

The installer will prompt you for any required variables, resolve defaults from your environment, and write the agent manifest to docs/agents/.

Configure an API key (for private and premium listings)

Generate an API key from your Dashboard and set PROGRAMMATIC_RESOURCES_API_KEY, which genus agent sends with every request:

export PROGRAMMATIC_RESOURCES_API_KEY=pr_xxxxxxxxxxxx

With a key, genus agent search and genus agent install also see your organisations' private listings.

How it works

  1. Browse — Find agent workflows by category or search
  2. Install — One command downloads, resolves variables, writes the manifest
  3. Run — Agents run on their cron schedule or on-demand

Agent templates contain:

  • SKILL.md — Documentation and instructions
  • setup.yaml — Variable definitions with defaults
  • manifest.template.yaml — Agent manifest template
  • programmatic.json — Catalog metadata
